The Utah Geological Survey - State Energy Program is involved in promoting many Residential energy Efficiency and other related programs.
Utah has a very progressive approach to building codes in its statutory requirement for automatic adoption of the latest version of the International Energy Conservation Code (currently the 2006 IECC). Local building officials carry out enforcement of the energy code. The State Energy Program is providing training to builders, inspectors, architects, and contractors to better understand how to use the current Building Energy Code. Weatherization programs such as CEP, and renewable energy, as well as general informational and educational programs aimed at homeowners and their residences.
